After selfishly spending most of this week trying to clean up from the hurricane, I have finally gotten around to posting the pictures for your enjoyment! I have to again say that I am thankful that no one was hurt, and that no damage was done to my house.
It is a LOT of work to try to clean up from something like this, and I still have a lot to do. It will be quite awhile before my yard is back to normal.
As an extra challenge I have hidden Murray in one of the pictures. If anyone finds him maybe I will get around to putting the Murray pictures I have up on the web page.
Katherine and I survived tropical depression Isabel, however our fence and shed were not so lucky. A couple of 60+ year old trees crushed out shed and parts of our fence. One of our neighbor’s oaks blew over into one of my oaks and they both came crashing down. Of course the crowns of both trees ended up in my yard. One of the trees landed less than ten feet from the back of the house.
Thankfully, one of my neighbors donated some of his time and his chain saw to help me get a start with the clean up. James and Chris also gave me a hand this morning with breaking down some of the limbs. I can now see my back fence from my yard again! I still have more work to do, but I feel a lot better about it today than I did on Friday morning. Pictures should be following shortly.
Comedy Central has a new contest called Knee High P.I. Four finalists will be selected from those entering on Comedy Central’s wb site. The four finalists will search N.Y.C.s streets for lawn jockeys with the help of their assistant … a midget P.I.!
My highschool has been designated as a Red Cross shelter for hurricane Isabel. I am glad to see that it is finally being put to good use. This is reason #284 that I don’t miss living in Virginia Beach.
