The LA Times has a great five-part article on young Seniesa Estrada’s fledgling boxing career. This is the best thing I have read in a newspaper in years, and more engaging than several of the books I have read recently. Registration is required, but BugMeNot can help with that. Would you let your daughter box if she displayed the same interest level? What about your son?

I would not let my daughters box - although I don’t have sons - I probably wouldn’t let them do it either.
People will toss around things like barbaric, etc. I just plain think it is stupid.

If I had children, I don’t think I would let them box regardless of their sex. I would however try to interest them in a martial arts program early to give them a contructive outlet for those violent urges.
